Virtual Primary Backup Server Specific Terms and Definitions
Service Description
Kor Computing will provide You with a single virtual server for use only in the connection of the primary storage of an offsite backup service for Your customers or Your company. Details of the exact virtual server (including Memory, OS Disk Space, and Operating System) will be selected by You during checkout from our online order form or through seperate Service Orders. Any charges with the virtual server (ie. upgraded memory) will be due on the anniversary date. These servers are unmanaged. Kor Computing is not responsible for maintaining, configuring, or anything else on your virtual server.
Kor Computing will also provide You with a single network attached storage mount point on one of our enterprise class SANs. All backup data is to be stored on the SANs. We may require that you move to a new SAN or mount point. In which case, we will notify you of the need and provide general assistance with the move (coordinating maintenance for backend, SAN level sync of Your data).
Data retention
Kor Computing shall not be responsible for retaining any data. All data is permanently deleted from our servers immediately when requested either through manual deletion (through the virtual server), service deletion (your backup software), or account termination. Kor Computing shall not restore, provide on any storage media, or send out any data pertaining to a terminated account. It is the customer's responsibility to backup their servers and data.
Data ownership
All data created by you and/or stored by you on Kor Computing provided hardware is considered to be your property and is for your exclusive use. Kor Computing makes no claim of ownership on any content or data contained inside your storage space.
Monthly Disk Usage Minimum
All accounts have a built in minimum of 50 GB of storage. There are no credits for unused space.
Software
You agree to install only the software necessary to facilitate backup services on Kor Computing provided hardware. Software that is not directly related to providing backup services will be removed during normal maintenance schedules. Types of software that is not permitted to be installed include anti-virus/anti-spyware software or insecure remote connection or monitoring software such as VNC, PC Anywhere, GotoMyPC, etc. Installation of unauthorized software can be considered a material breach with immediate account termination.
Data retrieval
Upon written notice of a data retrieval request Kor Computing will pack and ship a hard disk(s) to you for expedited recovery. Disks will be shipped within 12 hours of successfully copying requested data to the device. Once disks have been shipped Kor Computing will not be responsible for delayed transit time or lost shipments. You are responsible for all cost of shipping, and packaging.
Loaner Disk Drives for Seed Loads
Based entirely on availability, we may ship you a disk drive. Before shipment, we will invoice you the reasonable replacement value plus 10% of the cost of the drive. When the drive is returned in same condition, we will refund 100% of the invoiced amount.
